After establishing a name as the premier arts conference for creative industry players during its inaugural edition last year, the Borak Art Series returns to engage artists, presenters, producers, intermediaries and funders in critical dialogue on breaking cross-sector boundaries and developing financial sustainability.
Themed ?Building Knowledge Capacity in Funding and Mobility?, participants will converge upon MAP @ Publika for two days of keynote addresses, panel discussions, round robin sessions, networking platforms and performances.
In keeping with its original mission, event organiser My Performing Arts Agency (MYPAA) will continue to foster a conducive performing arts ecosystem and inculcate cultural mobility in addition to promoting accessibility to information, tools and ideas on scaling up works of art.
The Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur is beefing up the speaker ranks with two representatives from Kigyo Mécénat Kyogikai (KMK), Japan?s first non-profit dedicated to encouraging corporate patronage of the arts. Executive director Taneo Kato is known as a pillar of the country?s arts community having successfully pushed for wide-ranging support as a board member and advisor to numerous arts and cultural organisations.
He will be joined by executive secretary Yasuko Ogiwara, an accomplished arts administrator responsible for an exhaustive list of exhibitions, funds, the Japan Mécénat Awards and even the creation of an art museum.
