An abbreviation of Cosplay, Comics, Anime and Games Exhibition, the name has become a permanent fixture on the local event calendar for its celebration of all things geeky. Malaysian comic artist Sheldon Goh and Philippines cosplayer Ashley Gosiengfiao headline this year’s line-up of special guests set to make appearances.

Local theatre company Pentas Project and Taiwanese counterpart The Flying Group Theatre join forces to adapt the award-winning Japanese play. Now brought to life by puppetry, Noda Hideki’s powerful treatment of migration, foreign forces and xenophobia will take place in a Malaysian setting.

SDEA Theatre Arts Conference 2015

A biannual conference bringing together people who use theatre to address educational and social issues, this year’s edition will reflect on the changing landscape of the practice in and out of the region. Workshops, performances and paper presentations provide jumping points for participants to share and collaborate.

“The Maritime Order and Social Integration in Southeast Asia” International Workshop

12 academicians from Australia, Japan and Singapore will deliver a series of lectures seeking to discuss order and social integration in ASEAN from a maritime standpoint. The issues will be considered from several different disciplines, such as history, political science, sociology and anthropology.
