The exhibition was initially started between two schools, Sekolah Rendah Jenis Kebangsaan (Cina) Chung Hwa in Penang and Asaka Daiyon Primary School, Asaka in Japan. The exhibition grabs public interests, and it was requested by local authorities in both places to extend the exhibition to public in both countries.

Since then the exhibition programs has become biannual event and has been expended to other states, namely Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Sabah in Malaysia as well as in Japan.

About 200 drawing from both countries will be exhibited at the exhibition in conjunction with 20th Anniversary of the program “Friendly Relation Through Pictures”. It is also 50th Anniversary of Japan-Malaysia Diplomatic Relation as well as Malaysia Independent Day Celebration.
As a “Commemorative Events” and the “Finale” of the tour which was started in July, the drawings will be exhibited as follows:
