Following the rise in the daily COVID-19 cases and the extension of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in several states, the Japan Foundation, Kuala Lumpur (JFKL) has come to the decision to cancel the annual festival after much consideration and stands firm on the belief that it is best to safeguard the safety and health of our loyal fans and movie-goers. We have put in our best effort to run the annual festival at GSC, including postponing it three times since October 2020. We would like to thank you for your support and we will be keeping you posted on any updates on our future events. Till then, take care and stay safe!
The annual Japanese Film Festival (JFF) is returning in January 2021 and is set to light up selected Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) nationwide, showcasing 10 titles ranging from a variety of genres ? drama, comedy, action and animation, highlighting the colours of Japan through cinema. JFF 2020 PLUS ONE* will be the first Film Festival to be launched at GSC since the commencement of the Movement Control Order (MCO) back in March 2020.
