The Japan Foundation presents the live performance of one of Japan’s most famous Jazz saxophonists ? Umezu Kazutoki. His “KIKI” Band was established in 1998 when Umezu was planning his Africa tour. Umezu called the musicians from not only the Jazz field but also Rock and Blues to form a “National Team of Japan” in music. This is their 2nd International tour after the big success of the Africa Tour.

“KIKI” stands for “KIpara, KInyonga” which means “Bald Head, Chameleon” in Swahili. This name, given by the producer of their Africa tour, describes the feature of the band…The protean band in their music, led by the bald-head saxophonist, Umezu.
